PRISON SUPPORT – SIX PEOPLE ARRESTED IN FRANCE AND ACCUSED OF ARSON AT A SLAUGHTERHOUSE.

Different French newspapers have reported six folks having been arrested last weekend just after a fire had started at a slaughterhouse.

According to the filth, they had been investigating the group for a while and they are accusing them of an arson at a hunting federation building. The police was on site when the slaughterhouse fire happened and they report the activists moving the animals away from the building before setting some bales of straw on fire. Cops also say they are linked to multiple anti hunting actions during November. They are accused of criminal damage and being part of a “criminal gang”.

They are all on bail and under investigation. No support group has approached Unoffensive for help, but we will be very happy to aid in whatever way is needed.

We will keep you informed as and when news reach us.

PRISON SUPPORT – THREE PEOPLE IN PRISON ACCUSED OF “PROPERTY DESTRUCTION”. ANOTHER PERSON FINED 10,000 SWISS FRANCS FOR BEING PART OF AN OPEN RESCUE.

News arrive from our comrades in Switzerland. Three people are in preventive prison accused of property destruction in relation to multiple actions against speciesist business after a wave of window breaking in Switzerland. They will be held for a whole month before seeing the judge, even though the police has no evidence that links them with the butcher windows targeted or any other actions. They are being isolated in order to keep them away from news, they are not allowed to receive letters and the lawyers have warned that more arrests are still possible.

Meanwhile, an activist involved in a slaughterhouse blockade and open rescue of goats early this year has received their sentence and has to pay 10,000 Swiss francs in total. They have a gofundme and it would be appreciated if people donate and share as much as possible.

It is in times like this, when the state clamps down with repression overwhelmingly higher than the judges action that we need to realise they must be scared of the tactics. And it is in times like this that we should show solidarity the most.

UPDATE ON THE PRISONER PROTESTS IN SOFIA.

The hunger strike of around 30 prisoners in Sofia prison has ended. A statement has not been released, but it is understood that prisoner direction Krestev has reopened the prison shop. The closing of the prison shop is in fact what sparked the hunger strike.

Despite the ending of the hunger strike, symbolic protests against corrupt and abusive prison director Peter Krestev continue.

BANNER DROP IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE HAMBI 9.

‘Solidarity from so-called Victoria, Australia, with imprisoned comrades from the Hambach forest occupation in Germany. On January 22nd, cops raided tree houses and barricade structures in the forest, and took 9 people into custody. We took this photo as a small part of the international day of solidarity with the Hambi 9 on February 3rd.

The occupation has for years now been an amazing and inspiring site of resistance against the continued expansion of Europe’s largest coal mine. It is part of a global struggle against ecological destruction brought on by capitalism.

Freedom for eco-defenders everywhere!’

NEW ANIMAL RIGHTS PRISONERS.

Sven and Natasha were sentenced yesterday. Charged with “conspiracy to blackmail” on their involvement with the highly successful SHAC campaign, Natasha was given 2 years in prison suspended for 2 years (which means that her conditions will be horrible and alienating and that if she breaches ANY she could be sent to prison) whilst Sven was given 5 years in prison.

This is a show of the state repression and their protection of capitalism. This is another example of how the system works to protect itself, to put profit over anything else, to eliminate the threats.

Sven, Natasha and many others involved in SHAC were true warriors against vivisection. They were fearless and they were effective. They run a campaign so incredibly powerful that the government had to make up laws to stop them.

Don’t let the state win and do not let Sven or Natasha feel alienated.

MORE THAN 30 PRISONERS IN SOFIA PRISON ARE ON HUNGER STRIKE!

Prison director Peter Krestev, who we have mentioned before in a previous call for solidarity for prisoners, is now attempting to stop symbolic protests for basic human rights in Bulgarian prisons by closing down the prison shop.

‘Prisoners have not been able to buy food or cigarettes for 4 days now. In reaction to this some prisoners have started a hunger strike demanding to meet the Ministry of Justice and representatives from the National Prison Authority.’

The Bulgarian Ministry of Justice has failed to take notice of repeated and legitimate complaints about Krestev, who was previously dismissed from the position as prison director due the long list of human rights abuses he carried out. The situation is now getting worse. Upon being reinstated in his position, Krestev is now protecting a narco gang who beat, rape and torture prisoners.
