“There are nine of us hiding in the night, lying in wait. Our objective is crystal clear: we must get someone out of those cages—no matter what. On the way to the site (a farm for egg laying hens) we coordinate our roles; each person is vital and essential to achieving this act of animal liberation tonight.

We arrive in the dead of night, the lights in the sheds still on. As we finish cutting through the wire fencing, the lights go out. ‘GO! THIS IS OUR CHANCE!’ We wait a few moments, then slip inside—and there they are, terrified, surrounded by their own excrement and rats.

We begin opening the cages. The cool night air, the tall grass, and our dark clothing helped us reach them. We fill our bags and ensure the area is clear for our exit. Our companions are waiting by the fence, others in the cars; we load them up and leave, looking back at all those we couldn’t rescue today; but perhaps we will tomorrow, because this doesn’t end here.

This is a war against speciesism, a fight to liberate the slaves of an exploitative, murderous system.
Against all odds, and against all authority.
There is no veganism without animal liberation.

We dedicate this action to Nico Rucio (Susaron case); an anti-speciesist, anarcho-nihilist, straight-edge prisoner held within the territory occupied by the oppressive Chilean state.

“1,500 mink were liberated from the Hobbs Fur Farm at 331 Parkinson Road in Franklin, Idaho last night. The farm is operated by Jeff and Jill Hobbs.

The farm is one of less than 100 remaining fur farms operating in the United States.”

“On a full moon night 66 hens were helped to break free from a well known laying farm, famous in the area for its ‘free range’ practices.

Of course the reality is stinking sheds packed with hens deprived of anything a hen would need. There is no ethical farming if it involves animal exploitation!

The 66 are now safe in their new home.

We’ll come back for the others! Until every cage is empty”

“One of us had driven past and seen signs advertising ‘fresh eggs’, a few big barns were visible from the road further down. A few nights later once we’d lined up good homes we came back as a small group with carriers. We had brought a crowbar and some conveniently sized bolt cutters to assist us with entry but the doors weren’t locked, always check the doors. We were greeted by the standard sight of a filthy barn crammed with thousands of hens looking worse for wear. They were good as gold and stayed quiet on the walk back and seemed happy with their new temporary accommodation when we got them home.

We dedicate this action to the T&S rabbits, the ones that got out and the ones that didn’t. We send our greetings to every human that helped pave the way to their freedom. But the fight goes on until every cage is empty.”

“All across the UK, magpies are used as live bait in Larsen cages to trap and kill other magpies. The conditions of these majestic wild birds are horrendous – forced into a tiny wire cage filled with often multiple rotting bodies of other birds, no room to even stretch their wings. We happened to come across one in the countryside and released the imprisoned magpie and destroyed the cage. In solidarity with Des, and imprisoned vegan anarchist on turtle island.
