“We call all animal liberation activists and anarchists to come to the Earth First! Gathering in Shrewsbury next week, to mingle, plot against the industries that destroy the earth and harm animals and to learn from one another. We are aware it is at the same time as VCO and to that we say fuck that capitalist enterprise!

Earth First! Gathering is a five day event where everybody is crew (that means if you see a job, you have a job!), pay-as-you-feel priced and with an anti capitalist, eco anarchist ethos. You bring your own tent, you get fed vegan food by Veggies kitchen (it is their 40th anniversary, isn’t that cool!?) and you learn shit from people who do shit, or teach shit if you fancy, or plot your next actions, or relax and have a breather after continuously organising for the year!

We want to see more animal liberation folk involved (because the gathering is what we make it!) so lets meet and organise! 

EF!UK has uploaded a few of the workshop descriptions to their website already and a few are looking awesome, from How to care for a rescue fox hound to discussions on violence, there is. Lot to talk about!

“CALL TO ANIMAL LIBERATION FOLK TO POPULATE THE EARTH FIRST GATHERING 2024!

Hey folks!

We are a group of people wanting to see more animal lib related workshops and peeps at the Earth First! Gathering this year. EF! Gathering has been running for 30 years and the amount of animal lib influence shifts constantly. We would love to see more people who give a fuck about animals in the gathering, and organising talks, and mingling and plotting and teaching and learning!

The event is a five day gathering, every year at a different location, where eco-anarchists meet to socialise, to share new ideas and to plan and organise. It holds an everybody-is-crew ethos and folk pay as much or as little as they can afford towards the organising of the event. Nobody gets turned around for lack of funds, and food is included, you just need to make sure you bring a tent and comfy sleeping stuff!

Because we would like to see more animal lib stuff, we’ve been organising talks. If you think you’d like to give a rad talk about animal lib stuff (it could be history, it could be an open discussion, or strategy, or a new campaign, or a hands on workshop to learn how to do something!) please reach out to us. Camping tot Vrijheidsbezinning
The Gathering will take place at the Camping “Tot vrijheidsbezinning” in Appelscha. Purchased by anarchists in 1933, it has since become a landmark among activists where multiple events are held every year.

The campsite is also situated directly next to the Drents-Friese Wold nature reserve. You can step into the forest right from the campsite. An ideal place to unwind from the recent period of activism and get motivated for what’s to come. Will we see you there?

About the gathering
The gathering is an initiative from Bite Back Netherlands, but intended as a meeting for and by the movement.

A weekend to learn from each other, to get acquainted, and to relax. A weekend where we get motivated and can make our campaigns and actions even more effective. So that we can reach our goal even faster!

Folks are organising the yearly National Animal Rights March in London and are aiming for huge numbers. Back in 2019, 12 thousand people took to the streets in the name of animal rights, let’s see if that number can be beaten!

Groups will be coming together, from hunt saboteurs to anti vivisectionists to outreach groups. Hear all about what other folks are working on and upcoming events. This is a great opportunity to network and spread the word about any campaign or public actions you have planned. Go with mates, your local AR group, or on your own.

There’ll be plenty of speakers, stalls, and an awful lot of banners. Dust off the megaphone, make some noise and take over London. *Friendly reminder that police will be information gathering at this event, so take steps to keep yourself and others safe. Be smart, don’t talk to cops!

Earth First is a non-hierarchical ecologically minded gathering, with a focus on direct action, that’s been happening in the UK since 1991. Bringing folks together to skill share and conspire against capitalism, ecocide, colonialism, and speciesism. Learn about the history of environmental struggles and plan its future at the next gathering.

The animal liberation movement nowadays seems to be comprised by a lot of separate groups and individuals working to accomplish similar goals. By organising this event we hope to bring these groups and individuals together and create a wider and more connected movement.”

The Animal Liberation Summit in Amsterdam promises to be an interesting event of solidarity and practice, where you can meet like-minded activists, brainstorm within groups and create a more cohesive animal liberation movement.

So far a number of workshops have been announced, including how to talk to journalists, how to plan direct action, digital security, two separate talks by Christopher Sebastian, a puppet show on security culture and much more. The full programme can be found on their website:

WHAT: Weekend of workshops, discussion and gathering
WHERE: Sumac Centre, Nottingham UK.

The Earth First UK’s winter moot date and location has been anounced, it will be hosted in the Sumac Centre (Nottingham UK) 9th-11th February.

As always, you can expect a weekend of workshops and talks, probably a party on the Saturday night and the opportunity to meet new and old friends to plot, conspire and relax.

Sleeping will be in communal areas ot the Sumac Centre, essentially indoors camping (so do not bring a tent! 

Three meals a day provided, but bring your own snacks if you feel peckish! EF! Collective asks to leave a donation at the door to cover costs, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

1st International Gathering of Anarchist and Anti-authoritarian Practices Against Borders, January 25, 26 y 27 2024 in Tijuana, Mexico

We are a group of individuals with years of experience agitating for anarchist and anti-authoritarian ideas and practices in Tijuana: from solidarity events for prisoners and fugitives to propaganda activities like bookfairs and discussion groups to mutual aid like childcare and bicycle workshops.

Unfortunately we could no longer maintain our old, squatted space–Centro Social Okupado Mauricio Morales–out of which we raised confrontational proposals. The turbulent and disgusting requirements of daily life in capitalism proved too much of a constant struggle to keep the space. Nevertheless, with our networks and wills we have continued to bring together new proposals.

Now, we are calling on all those with affinity for war against power and authority, asking you for solidarity in organizing the 1st International Gathering of Anarchist and Anti-Authoritarian Practices, against the border in Tijuana January 2024. During the gathering, we will be organizing a space of encounter for practices tending towards confrontation against power, whether those be discussions, multimedia presentations, counter-information like books or zines, workshops, artistic projects, and any other creative activity that takes aim at breaking with thedaily affronts of authority. Taking into account the distance of many of our comrades, we will also open up participation over distance, whether those contributions be through writing, live video, or any other medium.The purpose of the gathering is to create an international platform for anarchist and anti-authoritarian agitation and propaganda through various horizontal practices of confrontation.

As organized individuals, we consider it important to propose ways that encourage the coming together of diverse forms of resistance against power, whether through discussions, actions, music, or propaganda—everything is valid when it comes to confronting power directly. This gathering serves as a laboratory in which theoretical and practical ingredients are mixed appropriately.

Hambi folk have asked to extend an invitation to all to join the forest in a nine day long festival and skillshare even at the end of November. Read their words below:

“The festival season is over? Not for us! While RWE is getting closer to us and the local government is already dreaming of getting rid of us altogether, we are still here and making life difficult for the state and capital! The Hambi is acutely threatened again, but we have the will to keep up the resistance together and with fun.

Some of you have already heard and now it is official: there will be a Skillshare Festiwald in November! We invite you to skillshares, music acts, climbing, actions, forest life and much more! The whole thing is as self-organized as possible, which means there is a lot of room for your ideas, wishes and input. So you can also add things to the program when you arrive and there will be a lot of stuff coming up spontaneously which is not in the program yet.

Let’s enjoy together what we defend here, let’s show that we are still eager to resist and whoever falls in love with forest life, we invite them to just stay with us!
