DIRECT ACTION GETS THE GOODS – CEO OF SVENSK MINK QUITS JOB AFTER BEING TARGETED BY THE ALF.

Johan Dalén, CEO of fur propaganda company ‘Svensk Mink’ has stepped down from his position after being targeted with sabotage and threats by the ALF.

As well as a stream of colourfully worded letters and phone calls made to Johan, his home and card have also been repeatedly targeted. He has now decided to resign from his post after 7 years.

Johan has played a huge role in portraying activists in Sweden as terrorists, as well as spreading effective propaganda promoting fur farming as an environmentally friendly and ethical practice.

In an anonymous statement published by the ALF they have said:

“Johan Dalén has managed to hold the crumbling fur industry together. Now that he is gone and out of the way the fur industry in Sweden is vulnerable. The ALF are ready to strike.

Bye bye, Johan Dalén! You will not be missed”

In other news, on the 11th of December 4 activists from the group Djurfront faced charges in court. They have been accused of trespassing and disturbing the peace during a protest at the mink farm in Falkenberg, which has seen an increased amount of resistance from activists over the past year. The verdict will be reached on the 27th of December and if found guilty, those accused will receive a fine. We will of course post updates when more information is available, but for now we send solidarity to those facing charges within the group.

UNOFFENSIVE UPDATE – POLICE REPRESSION IN HAMBACHER FORST

UNOFFENSIVE UPDATE – POLICE REPRESSION IN HAMBACHER FORST.

It’s been a little while since our last update. We have been mostly working in Hambacher Forst, attempting to build new structures after the eviction in September destroyed all living spaces within the forest. Building a treehouse is interesting, hard and certainly not easy, but thanks to the solidarity of others in the forest we keep giving small steps towards finishing it off. We are building on the tree where Whyda used to be before the eviction. Whyda was a treehouse named after a pirate ship and it was our fallen comrade Waka’s favourite treehouse. For that reason we will name the new structure Waka, so to ensure that he is still fighting against the forces that destroy the world.

Yesterday we endured police action in the forest. Although it was not horrible or difficult, it was ruthless. They came with the excuse of clearing barricades and destroyed all ground living spaces including tents, taking away sleeping bags, boxes of food and many different tools. After pulling up the tree and onto the beams of the future treehouse as much stuff as we could we waited for the state to repress, smash and put in the bin useful stuff and perfectly fine food whilst laughing and pointing at us. We don’t need a reminder of what the police system is, but it certainly painted a very clear picture once again.

Today we started over, collected what we could and kept building. Not much more you can do but to keep the struggle.

Underground Badger Syndicate has a gofundme going to help with building material and tools so if anyone would like to help the link is just here:

As a side note, both our Facebook page and website are still up! We are seeing a lot less reach on Facebook than we used to before and could do with help. Every time you see one of our posts, like it, comment and share! Help us get on the good side of the Facebook algorithms! Also if you want some merch before the holidays we MIGHT manage to send it over in time so head to our website and get it ordered!

PRISON SUPPORT – THREE PEOPLE IN PRISON ACCUSED OF “PROPERTY DESTRUCTION”. ANOTHER PERSON FINED 10,000 SWISS FRANCS FOR BEING PART OF AN OPEN RESCUE.

News arrive from our comrades in Switzerland. Three people are in preventive prison accused of property destruction in relation to multiple actions against speciesist business after a wave of window breaking in Switzerland. They will be held for a whole month before seeing the judge, even though the police has no evidence that links them with the butcher windows targeted or any other actions. They are being isolated in order to keep them away from news, they are not allowed to receive letters and the lawyers have warned that more arrests are still possible.

Meanwhile, an activist involved in a slaughterhouse blockade and open rescue of goats early this year has received their sentence and has to pay 10,000 Swiss francs in total. They have a gofundme and it would be appreciated if people donate and share as much as possible.

It is in times like this, when the state clamps down with repression overwhelmingly higher than the judges action that we need to realise they must be scared of the tactics. And it is in times like this that we should show solidarity the most.
