Those looking for legalistic campaigns, vegan savourism or cop-hugging pacifism are in the wrong place. These days are about attacking human supremacism and its world, its technologies and ideologies, all the cages that attempt to oppress us – and which we can empower each other to escape.

We warmly invite you to the Hambacher Forest, still squatted after 11 years, to share skills, perspectives, stories, proposals, inspiration, love, rage… whatever we need to go further in our struggles for total liberation. You don’t need money and you definitely dont need to register. Just pack your bag and find us here in August!

Propose your workshops by email or once you arrive. Come early if you want to help set up. Bring vegan food for the kitchen and other fun stuff if you like/can (but there will be free meals for everyone). And stay well away if you have racist, sexist, transphobic or otherwise oppressive views and behaviour.

MELBOURNE HUNT SABOTEURS CALL FOR ON-THE-GROUND SUPPORT AT THE HUNT’S OPENING MEET.

Melbourne Hunt Sabs is asking for support on the local hunt’s opening meet day. If you are near, go shout at some scum!

“For the first time, we are asking for community and supporter presence at our first hunt sabotage without our founding sab, Liam.

This is going to be a big one. We are determined to not let their abuse of power mean they can get away with hunting illegally. Are you annoyed at the hunt? Want to stand with Melbourne Hunt Saboteurs?

SUPPORT MARIUS MASON

June11th serves both as a day of solidarity for all long term anarchist prisoners and to fundraise funds for Marius Mason, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison for arson and is not scheduled to be released til 2027. We are happy to hear that the fundraiser for Marius Masons has reached beyond half of the set goal. 

This is good news! But there is still a bit to go before the fundraiser reach the goal of 2500$ (which is what Marius needs to get by for a year in prison). Any donations will be deeply appreciated.

A QUICK UPDATE

It’s been about three months since a bunch of folks came forward to help keep UA running. We’ve had great offers of support and people that have really gotten stuck in to help and provide more content for the platform. Frontlines has a constant stream of articles covering campaigns around the world, prisoner support is back to publishing once a week; Incite, Conspire, Inspire are back once again and even Tech&Sec has made a welcome appearance!

This is all hopeful and we are very glad for everybody who stepped up to support, it has really helped lightening the load and easing the burnout!

That is not to be said that we couldn’t do with some more contributors, if you thing there is a cool campaign that should get semi-regular updates and you’d be up for writing about it, reach out over email! The same way, if you have ideas for other content that you believe the movement could benefit from, do contact us and we can see if the UA is the platform for it, and as some other folks have already done, if you want to share about a specific action or campaign as a one off, do contact us too! We really, really would like to collaborate with as many different voices as possible, so don’t be shy!

The shop still has a few tees and hoodies at discounted prices, as we want to empty most of the stock. A few people have mentioned that they miss the Defend Direct Action hoodie/t-shirt design, is this a design that a good few people would like to get again? If we get a good few people saying so, we can sort out a preorder for you all and do a one-off print! Comment below and let us know if the DDA design is something you’d like to get, or if you’d like some other fresher designs!

Lastly, we would like to mention that we could always do with some economic support. Servers, domains and hosting as well as secure collaborative platforms for all the contributors is quite an expensive endeavour so we can keep the platform afloat, but also remember that most of the money raised by UA goes to prisoner and court support, so if you can afford a donation, please do so. UA collective does not get paid wages or any form of profits from the collaborations, everything is run on a volunteer basis.

GREEK RESISTANCE AGAINST FUR AND SKIN.

The multinational giant LHMV (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), which owns 75 of the most famous fashion companies (Tiffany & Co., Christian Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Loewe, Loro Piana, Kenzo, Celine, Sephora, Princess Yachts, TAG Heuer, and Bulgari et al.) kills animals for profit. …. We need to reject altogether the anthropocentric culture that wants the body parts of non-human animals to be treated as raw materials. Time to put an end to their sale and exploitation. We can move into a symbiotic world that respects and treats animals as equal companions in survival on planet earth.

We used the bright night of Summer Solstice to destroy several hunting towers and other equipment in southern finland.

There is nothing valuable about a hobby of murdering animals. We wish all hunters plenty of accidents.

EASTERN USA FUR FARM SURVEY REVEALS NUMEROUS CLOSURES.

Recently, anonymous aboveground activists conducted research of east coast fur farms, with the purpose of determining operational status and the number of active fur farms in the eastern United States, primarily Pennsylvania and New York.

Of the 18 farms visited, only one farm was confirmed as an active mink farm, the Stahl mink farm in Sunbury PA (4130 SR 890). One fox farm was inconclusive, the Pacuchinski fox farm in upstate NY (2730 Lenox Road).  All 16 others have shuttered. We found dilapidated and decayed sheds, and sheds that once confined mink were full of derelict machinery and various tools.

The number of operational U.S. mink farms is now under 100, down from over 400 in the 1990s and 274 just ten years ago. Estimates of active U.S. fox farms put the number between 25 and 50.

Last year, the Animal Liberation Front liberated over 15,000 mink from U.S. fur farms. In recent years, global pressure campaigns have seen nine designers go fur free. This is the grim state of the fur trade.

As the fur industry teeters on the brink of collapse, it’s up to all of us to do what it takes to ensure this industry never recuperates. Activist efforts and a diversity of tactics can destroy this industry that preys on native wildlife.

PIG TRIAL 4 COMES TO AN END

In 2019 in Quebec, Canada, folks entered a pig farm to orchestrate a blockade. Eleven people were arrested and charged with breaking and entering and impeding a police officer. As well as the blockade, they released a huge amount of footage showcasing the horrible conditions the pigs had to endure in their confinement.

After the action, the footage obtained was publicly released, causing a huge ripple effect. MAPAQ (the Ministry of Agriculture in Quebec), had never once inspected the Progreg farm in their forty years of existence. They visited the farm just a week after the occupation for the first time since the farm had opened, which made the farm lose its licence. Due to the pressure and footage from the activists they ended up losing all investors and customers, shutting down the farm for good.

Since then, the eleven activists have had a long process through their trial, where the farmer insisted that they had turned the thermostats in the breeding units down and complained about the fact that they had to close down.

All activists were found guilty and sentencing was delivered last week. From the eleven, five people received suspended sentences, and six folks received conditional discharges. They also received two years of probation and ordered to pay a 500 dollars fine to a charity of the judge’s choice, as well as 100 hours of community service.
