This summer the network Take Concrete Action is going for the forestry capital. A mass direct action will take place in Gävle, in so called Sweden, 15-19 June.
“We’re a mixed group of climate activists from Sweden who are tired of politicians and their inability to take the climate crisis seriously.
We refuse to remain passive – we’re taking action, and YOU can be a part of it!
Join us in Gävle this summer for the raddest climate camp in sweden’s history, in tandem with an even radder mass action!”
“For years I had heard all these stories about Rojava – great stories of resistance, heartbreaking stories of comrades falling Sehid (martyr), being remembered through tears, laughter and action, and of difficulties. It had always caught my attention; this place, so far away from our reality. A place where I don’t need to fear the police raiding my house, but instead fear the bombs and drones Turkey sends over. The hope that shines in people’s eyes when they talk about Rojava and the fact that many of my beliefs are being put into practice there, was also something that had always caught my attention.
Now, I am here, living many of the things I had only heard about previously. In just the short time I have been here, Turkey has assassinated several comrades, including two YPJ commanders who were part of the famous resistance against ISIS in Kobane. They were wounded there and had been living in a house for comrades wounded in war. Yet, there is silence from the so-called democratic western states admit such clear war crimes. Only days later, I went to a march demanding the freedom for Abdullah Öcalan; we were thousands marching together through the city. And most beautifully, the same wounded friends who survived the attacks only days before were leading the march, showing the spirit of “no pasaran! Em nacim! You will not get through and we will not leave!”.
The revolutionary spirit cannot be denied here, whether it is in the streets talking to people, visiting families who have been part of the Kurdish movement for decades or spending time together with the small team of internationalists who have traveled a long way to get to know the Rojava Revolution.
So, I will try to write a small regular update on Rojava, the developments here, and how I connect it to the broader anarchist and liberationist political movement that we are all part of.”
After 11 months kidnapped by the state, Victor Puertas, an indigenous forest defender arrested during a festival in Cop City, has been released. He spent three months in DeKalb County jail without bail and then he was transferred to an ICE facility where he was held for another 8 months.
Now that he is free, he could do with some economic help to help him with medical, living and jail recovery expenses, as well as with legal fees to fight the domestic terrorism and RICO charges he is facing. If you can afford it, please drop a couple of coins
According to local media, a hunter in Ansbach has faced continuous sabotage for the past two years. A year ago he fell from a tower that had been sawn and put together again, breaking his hand. The latest attack was fire, and the hunter found his tower burnt to the ground. He estimates the latest attack to have costed him around 1400 EUR. The police say they have no clues as to who the culprits are.
A farm has been vandalized in support of the activist accused of being part of a criminal organization, @nosomosecoterroristas
In the early hours of January 31, several activists have entered the facilities of a farm in the province of Soria, in the Spanish state, to protest against the genocide of animals and the impact of livestock farming on climate change and the criminalization of the climate and antispeciesist movement. The activists have left several banners and have stained with red paint the facilities of this farm, which has recently been awarded by the goverment for its “environmental effort”. A decentralized group of the collective claims action from this campaign @nosomosecoterristas.

“February 20 in Milan began the fashion week that will see on the catwalks, among others, the Max Mara group one of the few brands that has not yet given up fur despite years of protests by animal rights activists. A worldwide campaign has been launched these days by the fur free e alliance:
The group’s top management remains anchored to their ideas that clearly do not take into consideration the suffering of the animals they continue to want to exploit to make their inserts (mink and fox gloves, cuffs and hoods). Tonight we went to one of their stores to remind them that beauty is never cruel and that their money is soiled with the blood of animals that are skinned without any compassion on their part when by now there are so many high fashion brands that have renounced such slaughter by replacing real fur with synthetic fur. Why do you Max Mara continue to want to murder our brothers to steal the fur that belongs only to them??!
We daubed their windows with writing and paint to remind them that FASHION MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL AS LONG AS IT IS NOT CRUEL! THE ALF IS WATCHING AND THERE IS NO PLACE TO HIDE. ANIMAL LIBERATION FRONT (A.L.F ♥)”
THE ALF IS WATCHING AND THERE IS NO PLACE TO HIDE. ANIMAL LIBERATION FRONT (A.L.F ♥)”
“Last year the state of Victoria in so-called Australia held a public inquiry into duck shooting. The results of that inquiry saw a recommendation to ban duck shooting in Victoria given a majority vote for the ban. On the 29/01/2024, Jacinta Allan went against her own party’s recommendation and has allowed this cowardice “sport” to go ahead. Following the decision, Jacinta Allan went into hiding and has not yet made a statement. Just some little info on Jacinta, she personally supports duck shooting and her husband Yorick Piper, has been seen in photographs with Field and Game representatives.
Fortunately, Jacinta Allan cannot hide from the A.L.F and we are here to show her AGAIN just what happens when you let personal factors influence political decisions that go against the people’s wishes. Two weeks ago, we visited Jacinta Allen’s office with bricks – now we have returned with hammers, spray cans and more determination!
This time it’s personal. Hunters and their political affiliates will continue to be hunted. We will see your pals on the wetlands.
The Labour government that Jacinta represents has not only sentenced native waterbirds to death but is also complicit in the ongoing genocide in Palestine. They continue to supply Israel with arms to carry out their vile acts. This action was taken for the native waterbirds but also for the lives that have been displaced and taken by the IDF. From the river to the sea.
We acknowledge that this action took place on the land of the Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung people. We stand in solidarity with First Nations people in their fight against colonialism.
Jacinta’s office is located at 140 Mollison Street, Bendigo East. Feel free to pay her a visit She can be contacted by: Phone: (03) 5443 2144 Email: [email protected] Postal address: PO Box 399 Bendigo, Vic, 3552”
Leonard Peltier is a political prisoner who has been incarcerated for 48 years.
Leonard is 79 years old and the prison is neglecting his health. Leonard is in need of immediate medical treatment for the loss of his eyesight.
”Leonard Peltier has recently experienced a significant loss of vision which has required him to implore the help of fellow inmates to do basic things like dialing phone numbers for him to make calls, help type emails, and even help assist him getting around, as he cannot see well enough to walk on his own…”
Unfortunately, Sindre has not received any of the letters that have been sent to him. We do not know if this is due to the centre withholding letters, but he still needs love and support.
Sindre’s support team is therefore changing the address. If you want to write letters, send them to Sindre’s family. They make sure Sindre gets all the letters. Write to:
Sindre Annasson Persson
Rudolf Jonassons väg 25B
24136 Eslöv
Sweden
(Sindre is an animal rights activist, 21 years old, from so-called Sweden. In October 2023, Sindre was sentenced to forensic psychiatric forced care, without end date, for actions against a former fur farmer.)
Please, send a letter to Sindre today, even if you already did so last week. It is likely the facility is stopping Sindre from receiving the letters that would’ve been sent previously, so the change of address should help ensuring he receives them from now on.
According to local media, hunters from Var discovered fourteen hunting towers destroyed earlier this month. They are used to the odd tower being smashed, but they were left perplexed by the amount of destruction unknown perpetrators left behind this time. Anchoring posts dug up, structures knocked down, fittings dismantled: all that remains of the hunting cabins is a pile of wood scattered across the woods.
“Every year, we have tree stands destroyed. Here, or further down, at Le Fraye. But this is the first time we’ve had fourteen in one go” says one of the hunters. “I went to the gendarmerie but, like the other years, it won’t do any good. I’m fed up.”
“Often, we’re insulted, even though walkers or motorcycles and quads aren’t allowed to pass here. We’re not murderers,” says another hunter, who remembers one year when the watchtower was vandalized without the hunter stationed above noticing. “The construction cracked when it was almost two meters high. We had to hoist the colleague out by helicopter – it could have been very serious.”
So far, no one has claimed the action.
