An easy and cheap way to make a big, slightly crusty banner for a drop involves visiting some charity shops and getting those lovely second-hand bedsheets. Sow them together till you have the desired size, and start planning out the spacing of your message.
If you’re concerned about spacing your words properly, you can use a projector. Set up your banner on a wall and put the projector in front of it with whatever word you want to write. Now you can outline it and move on, so your comrades can fill in the letters whilst you outline the next word!
Once that’s done, sow a strip of fabric along what will be the bottom inside of your banner so that you can thread a rope through it. It should create some sort of “sleve” with holes on either side of the banner. If your banner is very long, consider having more gaps in the sleeve and threading shorter bits of ropes, so you can distribute the weight evenly across the whole banner.
You’ll use the sleeve to tie the weights to keep the banner from flying around and making the message unreadable. For weights, you can fill large plastic bottles with gravel, sand, or water. Make sure you securely tie them to the rope so they are not at risk of detaching and falling on anything or anyone.
Make holes along the top of your banner so that you can fasten the top of the banner with rope or cable ties to your desired location. Be sure the holes aren’t too close to the edge of the banner as doing so runs the risk of easy rips. Also, ensure your cable ties are heavy duty. We’ve all been there, with a huge banner, trying to attach it whilst the wind is fighting us, just to find out the zip ties are just breaking at the smallest of force!
Sometimes size really does matter. Have fun you artsy bastards. But purely doing legal things, we’d never suggest you do anything naughty.
It’s been almost a year since Strefi hill became a construction site guarded by cops 24/7. It’s been almost a year since the municipality has been trying to take away anything that is wild and free on the hill. The real estate company Prodea Investments and Unison entered Strefi on October 3rd 2022 with “redevelopment plans”.
Of course, their plans did not restore any of the hill’s problems, but caused more instead. Flooding and the corrosion of the soil are the main problems of the hill. As you can see in the pictures, even after a small amount of rain, everything is falling apart after Prodea’s flood protection project and the excavations for underground lighting and CCTV networks. The majority of the plants that hold the hill together have been eradicated.
In August, a machine eradicated the endemic protected species “Silene spinescens.” Comrades attempted to stop it, but they were once again threatened with prosecution. All the non-human inhabitants, are facing big difficulties to survive. Their nests have been destroyed, and they have started looking for food in the city. The result is one young tortoise dead by a car few days ago, a lot of them are missing (a protected species among them) and one of them got a broken shell probably by a bulldozer. The number of the dead tortoises would be bigger if people didn’t put water for them during summer. We cannot let them continue killing the life of the Hill.
It’s been almost 3 years of assemblies, events, protests, marches, clashes, in defence of Strefi hill! We will continue until the hill and the neighbourhood of Exarchia are free again.
“The International Motor Show (IAA) was held in Munich last week. At this summer show, all manner of multinationals were once again able to show off their gleaming, beautiful cars and congratulate themselves on their economic success in their air-conditioned conference rooms, limousines and exhibition halls.
At the same time, this summer has once again been full of fires. In Rhodes. In Portugal. In Maui (island of Hawaii). At the same time, many people’s homes were flooded. In Slovenia and Austria. Many people’s lives were shattered. These deadly catastrophes have many causes, and the IAA is just one of them. We say Switch off the system of destruction!
So we torched a few new Tesla cars this evening in Frankfurt. In salute to the Munich protests. One of many attacks on the destructive automotive industry.
Tesla is one of our greatest enemies. This company represents better than any other the ideology of green capitalism and the pursuit of global and colonial destruction. Electric motors are constantly presented as the clean alternative. This is a cynical lie. Like other companies, Tesla exploits resources all over the world. The raw materials needed for electric car batteries, such as lithium and cobalt, are mined in Latin America or Africa under miserable conditions. Despite the pretty green paint job, fossil fuels are used to transport and extract them.
All this is linked to the oppression of indigenous communities, whose resistance must spur us to action.
Tesla accepts all this in order to produce cars that can slither through city centers. Which will show day after day that there is wealth to be had. But not for everyone. According to Tesla’s logic, only a few are entitled to own such cars. It’s a question of class that determines who drives or has the right to drive these cars.
This time, in a show of resistance, we attacked a parking lot housing Teslas for sale. Often, and just about everywhere, it’s Teslas belonging to private individuals that are hit, when it’s not the construction of its factories that are sabotaged, as in Berlin-Grünheide. All these acts are important to damage this group. Not only economically, but above all politically. To show that we don’t agree with the green lies, the plundering of raw materials or the cities and roads that belong only to the rich. In our opinion, these poisoners must pay a high price!
Tesla is part of a conglomerate of groups owned by Elon Musk. His patriarchal fantasies are apparently inexhaustible. He is one of those people who want to dominate the Internet, space, new technologies and artificial intelligence, and seems to know no limits to his fantasies of domination.
SpaceX, for example, is a company that wants to create more resources, rockets and spaceships to make space a vacation destination for the rich and advance the idea of one day inhabiting Mars. The appropriation and subjugation of territories for capitalism continues, all the way to Mars. A dystopia that speaks volumes.
As for the neurotechnology company Neuralink, its aim is to link the human brain to machines. They are experimenting on animals to see how thought flows can be read. In the long term, this is claimed to be used for curing diseases.
But like SpaceX and Tesla, Neuralink also aspires to a longer-term perspective, in which individuals have a different value. In which some people have a right to a better life in the midst of the ecological catastrophe that is already upon us. Incorporating certain thoughts and ideas into the development of AI can only give rise to a deeply racist technology.
Some may claim that their electric cars are not responsible for the destruction of the world’s ecosystems, exploitation and displacement of populations. Some grant themselves the right to be blind to their privilege of colonial and ecological destruction. We must destroy these patriarchal and colonialist conceptions of the future. They are the enemy of a world and a way of life that are ecological and based on solidarity.
Greetings to all those on the run and in prison! Switch Off – the system of destruction!”
Editor’s note: Since receiving this article, we have been told that whilst many fire engines had to work on extinguishing the fire, police and press are silencing this action, having published nothing about it. They are probably trying to handle the heat of Celula Insurreccional por el Maipo receiving more attention when they already made international headlines last year due to an arson at an amazon facility.

ENGLISH (translated):
“ADJUDICATION OF ARSON ATTACK ON THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE AND MEAT PACKING PLANT CORDILLERA OF DINACAR HOLDING. PUENTE ALTO, CHILE.
On the night of Saturday, September 30, we successfully attacked the Cordillera slaughterhouse and meat packing plant, setting fire to part of its infrastructure and logistics, aiming to cause as much damage as possible with the care and confidence that there were no live animals in the place. With this attack we sought to sabotage the production and transport of the slaughterhouse and the supply line of butcher shops, both belonging to the DINACAR holding, which is also dedicated to the breeding of pigs (Porky/Viña Vieja) and cows (chain of farms “Viento Sur”), thus completing the chain of the industry of death from beginning to end.
This is not merely an anti-speciesist action but also a direct attack on the existing power relations in projects like this one, where we can see the precariousness of the territories where they are located, generating pollution, degrading the quality of life of the environment; extractivism, present in the direct use of the waters of the Maipo and its subsequent return of dirty water; and the capitalist logics that commodify and trade in life, exploiting everything that can generate profits.
We are not heroes, we are enemies of all forms of domination, embracing attack as a concrete practice that materializes our anarchist desires to live without cages or oppression for anyone. Antispeciesism requires attack, leaving behind victimhood and its inaction!
We continue taking direct action and consolidating and expanding the conflict for land, both urban and rural.
We salute the territories resisting against progress and capital, and those who materialize animal liberation through fire and/or the erection of spaces of anti-speciesist solidarity known as sanctuaries.
Fire to traditions and to speciesist culture!
Through this action we send revolutionary hugs to our comrades Monica and Francisco, prisoners of the Susaron case and prisoners of the gendarmerie case.
Anarchist, subversive and Mapuche prisoners: free them all!
An end the sentences of the military justice!
In memory of Emilia Bau and all comrades killed in the struggle for animal and land liberation.
Free Maipo.
For anarchy, for the earth, for our lives!

ADJUDICACIÓN DE ATAQUE INCENDIARIO A FAENADORA Y FRIGORÍFICO CORDILLERA DEL HOLDING DINACAR. PUENTE ALTO, CHILE.

Mountain Valley Pipeline is a 303 mile long natural gas pipeline from northwestern West Virginia to southern Virginia that began construction in 2018 that has been, and continues to be, resisted through lawsuits, tree-sits, aerial blockades, walk-ons, lockdowns, car barricades, and most recently sabotage and arson.
In July the supreme court filed an emergency order ruling the immediate resumption of the construction of the pipeline and dismissing existing litigation. In September a judge granted temporary injunction against six protestors, barring them from returning to the site.
Machinery sabotage and arson has taken place in these three months, and the most recent communique A CALL TO WAR AGAINST THE PIPELINE says
“we believe that mvp is financially precarious and can still be stopped through relentless destructive actions, alongside the scaling-up of the existing campaign to cause disruptions and delays. to this end, we call upon like-minded individuals and groups to travel to so-called virginia and west virginia to inflict maximum economic damage against mvp by any means at your disposal. we must demoralize the enemy and prove that their project is doomed to never be completed. A map of the pipeline showing incomplete water crossings can be found at tinyurl.com/mvprfuckers. […] We have seen campaign after campaign fail to stop pipelines over the past decade, and we cannot afford to keep losing.[…] warriorup.noblogs.org and tension.noblogs.org are good starting points to find information on various arson and sabotage techniques. […]the only way to stop the deterioration of the climate from getting exponentially worse is to immediately halt the expansion of new fossil fuel infrastructure, and to shut down and dismantle existing infrastructure. wherever you live, there’s a pipeline near you that you can go shut off yourself.”
The intensive badger cull is in full motion and though no new zones have been authorised, 29 will continue across in England which could result in up to 24,000 murdered in September and October on top of the 210,000 already killed since it began in 2013. However, saboteurs and activists, acting on intelligence and data from previous years, were on hand to take action to prevent killing and protect local populations. Derbyshire Against The Cull were the first to publish their disruption of free-shooting, where the wild animals are shot at night, and was soon followed by cage traps being destroyed by Underground Badger Syndicate. Multiple hunt sabotage groups from across the country have also been active day and night. Though the scale of the cull is bleak, the survival of consistently targeted setts reaffirms the importance of localised action.
Anti-cull action will continue throughout October but cannot be done without support. Many are active night and day, seven days a week. Fuel costs alone are enough to determine how active they can be so donations of any size can help go a long way. Underground Badger Syndicate specifically have set up a fund raiser for their continuous efforts throughout the cull. Tip-off’s are also incredibly important. Though there are groups and individuals specifically dedicated to the cause, anyone can make a difference simply by checking their local badger sett. You never know what you may find, including other items of wildlife destruction nearby as seen by Manchester Hunt Sabs.
The Llandeilo Farmers Hunt have disbanded following financial pressure and a lack of support from landowners. This is a reminder of how important these two factors are for the sustainability of a hunt. It was noted that the hunt attracted very few mounted riders, which is an essential stream of income, and what riders they did have were likely put off by the presence of South Wales Hunt Saboteurs. Some hunts sabotage themselves through their own actions. For example, last season the huntsman was evicted by an angry landowner as the hounds chased his sheep. Events like this act as nails to a hunts coffin. Sabotaging a hunt like this, on top of saving wildlife on the day, can also add further nails to their coffin. Some hunts may seem fair from the possibility of disbanding but, as seen by a recent confirmed amalgamation of the East Sussex & Romney Marsh Hunt with the South Down & Eridge Hunt in England, even hunts with a history of violence and police backing can fall. It was also announced that the Ecclesfield Beagles have folded, a Hare hunt who had famously been the target of a raid by the Animal Liberation Front in the 1980s.
Throughout September, hunt sabotage groups across the UK have been active in disrupting efforts of hunts in training new hounds against fox cubs and leverets, often taking place in the early hours of the morning, with many active during multiple days of the week. This training process is vital for the main hunting season and, when left unchallenged, often results in multiple wild animals being killed during a single hunt meet. The efforts made by saboteurs not only has saved many lives, it also creates complications for the training process which may be detrimental for hunting during the upcoming main hunting season. This month has been extremely busy for groups as, in addition to this, have also been organising and taking part in fundraisers, recruiting new members and taking part in other action such as the badger cull. Donations and messages of support are always appreciated and help with expenses and keeping spirits high.
Overnight, a group of anarchists attacked the World Forestry Center museum and its conference building next door, destroying doors, windows, and the museum’s glass facade before dissapearing into the darkness. The Center is set to host the “Who Will Own the Forest?” conference September 26th-28th. The conference brings together “landowners, asset managers, investors, forest industry executives” and other vampires to plan and adapt their plundering of the forests for capitalist growth.
To truly defend the forests requires the destruction of capitalism altogether. Knowing there can be no dialogue with what must be destroyed, we turn to the attack.
We hope the damage presents an obstacle to the conference going as planned. Though we don’t mind the ambience of broken glass and missing windows, we expect the industry executives might!
Love to those fighting against Cop City, the Mountain Valley Pipeline, and their world!”
Due to years of medical neglect in prison, Eric is currently suffering from health problems. We hope Eric gets better soon, that he is released and can get the medical help he needs. Eric release from federal prison is set for February 2024.
If you want to support Eric, you can help him start his life outside prison walls by donating to his release fund, which is close to reaching its goal.
A while ago Eric wrote a text about ABC Running Down the Walls. The text is an important reminder of the value of prisoner support. In Eric’s own words:
“I give the biggest solidarity and warmest hugs to all those who in any way do what they can to help those inside. No matter the custody level or length of the bid, prison exposes you to the worst society has to offer, and the people who care expose us to the best. Thank you all for caring. I hope the weather is nice!”
One of the go-to critiques of anarchism is essentially that “if there isn’t hierarchy and the constant fear of having no shelter or food, then no one will do any work”. So let’s talk about it: can we work without a boss breathing down our necks?
We already do! While the threat of homelessness is probably needed to get someone working 70 hours a week doing something they hate to make billionaires more profit, people do actually want to help each other. Doing labour to care for your community is something people have been doing since long before shareholders ever existed. Even while exhausted from labouring for shit bosses, many people are still so compelled to care for others that they help their older neighbours by taking the bins out, go litter picking, have friends crash for extended periods, cook for each other, and provide emotional support. With covid-19, as governments failed, we saw communities come together in mutual aid. Setting up local networks to check up on each other and make sure urgent needs got met and distribute supplies.
How can we apply these principles of voluntary contribution more, especially within activism? See a job, do the job. Make anarchy reality by not waiting on someone else to do what you see needs doing. People talking to cops at demos? You print some bust cards with advice on why we shouldn’t talk to cops and links to further resources to help people navigate interactions with filth. Community fridges, copwatch groups, and so many other campaigns have all started with someone simply deciding that they weren’t gonna wait for someone else to address the issue but get started themselves. Write to prisoners, check in on your mates, take down ads and cover fascist graffiti. Anarchy is found in action.
It takes a lot of hoarding of resources and propaganda to make people think we don’t want to care for each other when we really do. Fight like all we have is each other, because it’s true.
Two main updates from the Campaign Against the Fur Trade this month.
First, the pressure is continuing against Marc Jacobs, with CAFT dishing out the numbers to call to let them know what you think of their death trade. Pressure continues outside Marc Jacobs stores to let their customers know about the suffering behind the brand. See @caftusa for details.
Second, an anonymous group released around 7,000 mink from a farm in Northumberland county, Pennsylvania, making state news. It would seem that most have not been found. Long may the mink live free <3
