Marius Mason is an anarchist animal rights activist who has been in prison since 2009.
Marius plead guilty to being involved in an arson at a research lab, and to twelve acts of property damage. Marius release date is January 10 2027.
Each year at June 11th, the international day of solidarity of with Marius Mason and long-term anarchist prisoners, folks remember our longest imprisoned anarchist comrades through words, actions and ongoing material support.
Marius recently published a statement,
“Dear Family and Friends Thank you for coming together to support all anarchist prisoners still kept from freedom. Your positivity and encouragement have meant the world to me, literally, this past year. Now that it has been some 16 years away from the free world for me, your stories have allowed me to connect to campaigns as different as saving the commons in Georgia to ending genocide in Gaza. “Four hundred activists from across the country and beyond mobilised at MBR Acres on May 25th, in a sure sign that British grassroots animal liberation is back. MBR Acres breeds 2,000 dogs a year for the research industry. These dogs will be poisoned to death inside Frankenstein laboratories and then cut apart by sadistic lab technicians.
This was the largest turnout at a vivisection breeder in some years, and if the energy, rage, and determination are anything to go by, this is a movement once more on the rise.
Setting the tone, the night before, the iconic Louise Ryan proudly and publicly defaced and tore apart MBR’s fresh new advertising banner draped across their front gate. The banner, which bragged of ‘thriving’ dogs and benefits to human and non-human animals, was as offensive as it was misleading. If the CPS and MBR are brave enough to try to prosecute Louise for her courageous action, they will struggle to find a jury willing to disagree with her.
On the day itself, almost as soon as activists began to arrive, a sit-down protest blocked the main road. Police struggled to remove the activists as more and more people swarmed into the area. Smoke from flares filled the air as drums, megaphones, and hundreds of voices reverberated along a growing queue of blockaded vehicles. Eventually, the police gave up and officially closed the whole road for the rest of the day.
The little that remained of MBR’s vinyl banner, was ripped down and replaced with new signs denouncing the company and explaining the truth about their vile industry. Attempts were also made by some to climb the front gates.
Meanwhile, along the fence’s side perimeter, police seized at least one pair of bolt cutters used by activists to cut through it. As sticks and stones began raining over the razor wire, the fences began to shake as activists tried to tear them down.
Dozens of police stormed to the action, pushing, shoving, and throwing activists into ditches as they did so.
As police desperately tried to regain control of the situation, the majority of the protestors, who were now by the side fence, listened to speeches and held a minute’s silence.
With the police distracted, just twenty meters away, two activists tore the chainlink fence from the metal fence posts, revealing enough space to get inside. Security began to panic, and screams of ‘We have a breach!’ were heard down the radios as backup flooded to the scene. Outnumbering the activists by three to one and setting guard dogs on the fences, the best opportunity to enter MBR Acres was lost.
As the protest dispersed, the action wasn’t quite over. Throughout the following night, MBR’s remaining signage was covered in red and black paint.
This is a movement on the rise, and anyone who experienced the action at MBR on May 25th will have felt the energy, spark and determination brewing. It feels inevitable that this hellhole will close. It’s not a matter of if, but when; and that is up to us.”
“Earlier this year, the Ulster Brigade of the Animal Liberation Front of Ireland liberated a German Shepherd from a life of hell.
For years, this beautiful big German Shepherd dog had been chained to an iron block and was living in a small pen, covered in his own faeces and his food thrown on top of it. The bowl he was expected to drink from was full of green algae. The dog had welt marks on his side from being beaten and was generally unkempt.
A kind soul who carried out work at the property alerted one of our volunteers to this poor dog’s plight. Within a few hours, a team assembled and were ready for the liberation mission.
The imprisoner of this beautiful creature was an elderly farmer who was known locally to brandish a shotgun to trespassers on his land. Our team of volunteers appropriately armed themselves and went equipped for any eventuality.
Within seconds of entering the property, our volunteers had managed to set the beautiful dog free from his shackles and he jumped into our vehicle without hesitation – as if to tell us to get him out of there as fast as we could.
The PSNI decided to share a stolen dog post. Rest assured, this big lad wasn’t stolen – he was LIBERATED!
The photo that the police service put up got them a lot of negative attention and people hoped and prayed that this dog was saved. Your prayers were answered.
We got the lovely boy to his safehouse, a few hundred miles away, where he’d spend a few weeks being assessed before we found him a permanent home. Truth be told, for a dog so mistreated, he had the most gentle, patient and loving personality of any dog we’ve ever come across! He was even trusted with the rescued horses.
His permanent companions came and collected him and he has been a welcomed addition to their household ever since. He has a sofa and bed to call his own – some new canine siblings and never has to worry about being mistreated again.
As for the farmer, our volunteers have made sure that he will never mistreat a dog again, lest he want to lose his mobility.
“The number is not as important as the fact that the life of a few worms has changed forever. Most have already turned into bugs and live with people who like them. Every non human life matters. Liberation from a pet store, Czech Republic”
“We sprayed “Drecks Tierquäler” and ALF and smashed the big shop window, sprayed butyric acid through the sliding door and painted MEAT IS MURDER on the floor in front of the butchery.
More then the action was quick and simple: the fire department and police were called out and there were numerous reports in the media.
One picture shows the report of the biggest news site “Tagesschau”.
The damage amounts to an estimated €30.000. Butchers’ shops are symbolic of speciesism and are therefore a priority target for the ALF.
No, you are not the victim because you know where the animal comes from whom you murder!
Camping tot Vrijheidsbezinning The Gathering will take place at the Camping “Tot vrijheidsbezinning” in Appelscha. Purchased by anarchists in 1933, it has since become a landmark among activists where multiple events are held every year.
The campsite is also situated directly next to the Drents-Friese Wold nature reserve. You can step into the forest right from the campsite. An ideal place to unwind from the recent period of activism and get motivated for what’s to come. Will we see you there?
Want to share your own knowledge too? Do you have a workshop or a lecture you’d like to give, or something else interesting that fits within the program? For example, a performance for the evening program, an activity for children, or would you like to set up a booth on behalf of your organization?
About the gathering The gathering is an initiative from Bite Back Netherlands, but intended as a meeting for and by the movement.
A weekend to learn from each other, to get acquainted, and to relax. A weekend where we get motivated and can make our campaigns and actions even more effective. So that we can reach our goal even faster!
WHAT: Mass demonstration against beagle breeders WHERE: MBR Acres, Sawtry Way, Huntingdon, Cambs, PE28 2DT WHEN: 25th May, Midday.
More groups are calling for a mass gathering in front of MBR Acres in Huntingdon UK, where beagles are bred to be shipped to laboratories across the country.
The event, autonomously organised independently from all other campaigning groups against MBR, makes clear claims; come to MBR Acres at 12 on Saturday 25th. Dress black in memory of all the beagles murdered for vivisection. Mask up for solidarity.
Take care of one another and fight back against this incredibly cruel industry that believes it is ok to torture animals in the name of capitalism.
If you are not in the UK, similar calls of solidarity have been made. There are many customers of MBR around the globe, and there are many MBR locations too. Find the nearest and fight back!
“A cold afternoon in Argentina, in a beach far away from the city where nobody really goes off-season we saw an amateur fishing person as the single, lone human on the beach.
The only vehicle parked there was theirs, and they spent a very long time fishing, showing a great passion for the murder of fish.
What they didn’t know is that fishing saboteurs were hunting them, and whilst they were fishing we slashed their tyres. Because we slashed all tyres, the emergency tyre in the boot served no purpose, so their way back was a little inconvenient 60km away from any tyre place
They likely thought “who can be so cruel” but it was extremely pleasurable to see their murderous eyes now filled with sadness, walking around their vehicle with all the tyres popped.
Fishing saboteurs, keep going!”
