From 3am activists from the 269 Libération Animale association have occupied a slaughterhouse in France. Activists chained themselves to the kill chain and some activists endured the freezing cold night on the roof of the abattoir.
They used smoke grenades and flares to bring attention to the bloodshed happening inside the building.
This action is undergoing and we will bring you more news as we receive them.

‘Solidarity from so-called Victoria, Australia, with imprisoned comrades from the Hambach forest occupation in Germany. On January 22nd, cops raided tree houses and barricade structures in the forest, and took 9 people into custody. We took this photo as a small part of the international day of solidarity with the Hambi 9 on February 3rd.
The occupation has for years now been an amazing and inspiring site of resistance against the continued expansion of Europe’s largest coal mine. It is part of a global struggle against ecological destruction brought on by capitalism.

“The night of the 29th we liberated 14 individuals from their prison in Zug, Switzerland. Cramped in a really confined space and completely isolated from each other, these creatures survived a torturous existence with only one purpose, to be fattened and murdered for our taste buds.
They didn’t even have names, just numbers. We could not accept it. We saw as our duty to free these creatures from their captivity because non-human animals feel exactly like us and have the same right to live as we do. From now on they will live in a beautiful place where they can fulfil their natural needs.
Two animals are killed every second in Switzerland alone. With this action, we were able to spare 14 lives, but we also see this liberation as a symbolic act. As a call to arms to all animal-liberating beings!

Joseph Buddenberg, serving a sentence for liberating thousands of animals from fur farms, has been released today!
Thanks to everybody that has supported him and written letters, now he has to endure his two years of probation, but the worst has already past!

AN ALL-WOMEN, VEGAN ANTI-POACHING UNIT IN ZIMBABWE.
The IAPF – International Anti Poaching Foundation – www.iapf.org counts with an all women anti-poaching unit patrolling the land and protecting the wild.
The (apparently controversial according to the media) program started with 36 women being pushed even harder than men through a special forces style training. Only three dropped out.
The empowerment of women from disadvantaged backgrounds doesn’t just create an opportunity for them, but also for those around them. Although the unit is a wildlife conservation team, their background makes them work within the community and not against it and many have plans to open schools and foster orphans.
The fact that the whole team went vegan just says something is very right about the group.

Sadly, the documentary focuses a lot more on their white man trainer than on them, so we didn’t want to feature it as the main media. Who would’ve thought that media would still be so backwards thinking, reinforcing those social hierarchies?

LATEST FRENCH SLAUGHTERHOUSE BLOCKADE – AN ACCOUNT FROM AN ACTIVIST.
We requested and received an account of the happenings during the last 269 Libération Animale blockade in France. Read the words because they transmit not only how violent the cops can be but also how the estate repression keeps creeping up and the urgency of more activists joining to make a change.

“The action lasted 14 hours, the slaughterhouse is the 5th biggest in France, hundreds of cows are killed there daily. The slaughterhouse was already targeted by the association in the past, 9 activists chained themselves to the gate and blocked the trucks for 4 hours. 2 Nuits Debout were organized as well and we returned there because it belongs to an important carnist lobby ”Sicarev”.
We occupied the rooftop of another of their slaughterhouses 29-30/10 for 26 Hours. The president of Sicarev came on Monday and tried to convince the police to be harsh with us and said we should all get a prison sentence, as if he substituted himself to a judge. The police tried to steal the phone filming the evacuation and an activist was able to hide it in its pocket to film. They were really violent.
After the evacuation of the activists chained inside the death row, they evacuated us on the rooftop. Some of us (15 approximately) were put in jail for a couple of hours.
Tiphaine and Ceylan, the founders of the association, who were just supporting the action on the streets, and who were not participating, were chased by police officers and locked up for more than 24 hours!
This is just another sign they are trying to put huge psychological pressure on the whole disobedience movement.
This is the first time in France that a slaughterhouse is completely unable to kill for a whole day and it shows how effective we could be if we grew our numbers.
People should stop saying they defend animals and put themselves as heroes, we are just here to be allies and now our resistance against speciesist industries must go into slaughterhouses. We must resist with them, not just for them. This is why we put ourselves between the knives and the victims.”
HUNT SABOTEUR IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER ATTACK.
“A Hunt Saboteur is in critical condition after being punched to the ground and ridden down by members of the Dart Vale and South Pool Harriers. The huntsman from the hunt was present and involved in the attack. Cameras and radios were stolen during the attack.
Saboteurs had been following the hunt when a small group of three were lured into a premeditated attack. The injured sab was punched to the ground before being ridden over by one of the hunt horses. He is currently in hospital undergoing a CT scan and repeatedly lost consciousness after the attack. He also has a hoof print in his head.”
