LIBERATE OR DIE: FROM CAGE TO FREEDOM

INTERNATIONAL CALL!

JOIN US FOR A WEEK OF ANTISPECIESIST ACTION, WORKSHOPS AND SKILLSHARING.

15th – 20th March, 2018

We’ve been missing a real activist-run, animal-rights-based, radical
action camp, so we decided to make our own. In the Heart of the
Hambacher Forest, a landmark of anti-capitalist and climate justice
resistance, we will be hosting our first antispeciesist event.

THE LIST OF WORKSHOPS WILL BE UPDATED AS WE GET MORE SPEAKERS CONFIRMED

//

THIS EVENT IS FREE. With our concept of Anti-Capitalism, we do not
believe people should have to pay to learn, share knowledge and take
part in actions. Donations are well received as the occupation can
always do with some funds, but they are not necessary! (We have been
told they really like chocolate, hint hint!)

THIS EVENT IS VEGAN. We would like the space to be vegan and the
participants should be able to respect it. We dumpster dive most of our
food and although the forest has a divide between freegan and vegan
diets, the Antispeciesist Space will remain fully vegan.

THIS EVENT IS ACTIVIST RUN. We are all crew. We all take turns to wash
up dishes and to cook dinner, we all collect firewood and build a fire!
From each according to their need to each according to their ability, do
not be shy to help out!

THIS IS AN ACTION EVENT. On our first day, we would like to discuss
different actions that could take place during the week. Depending on
the skill level and legal comfort we will make a decision to take action
one way or another. Bring ideas and listen to the group, we are sure
that whatever is decided will be a wonderful action!

THIS EVENT IS BASED AT THE HEART OF A COMMUNITY. We will be sharing the
forest with others and many have lived there to protect the trees for
years. Some are VERY camera shy. Taking photos of the occupation is
wonderful, but DO NOT take photos of activists without express
permission. The same way, phones aren’t very welcomed in plenaries and
workshops. Trust us, you’ll feel a massive relieve not carrying it
around at all times!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
You should firstly bring yourself. Call in sick at work and avoid going
to uni, what’s best; being a wage slave or fighting for the animals?
There is a list of things you could bring with you but if you don’t have
something specifically DO NOT WORRY, we will find a way.

– Sleeping bag and mattress
– Tent (it would be good to bring them depending on how many we are!)
– Rage
– Head torch
– Love
– Warm clothes
– Boots
– Hugs (but please ask first before sharing them!)

HOW DO I GET THERE?
If you are coming from outside of Germany, Cologne has great bus
connections! Check FlixBus and get yourself here! From Cologne, you will
need to grab the train line “S-Bahn” to BUIR. S12 to Duren will work,
but google map it if you’re lost!
Once you arrive at Buir’s train station, go down the stairs and turn
left. Keep walking over the motorway bridge and another 200m until you
arrive at a junction signalling left towards Morschenich. Take the left
and carry on walking straight until you see an airfield to your right.
Then use the sand road to arrive at The Meadow and say hi!

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Come whenever, come for the event, come before and stay for years or
come for the weekend. It is up to you!

IS IT REALLY FOR FREE?
Yes. Food, smiles and a place to sleep, all for free. Fuck capitalism
big time. We are here to change the world, not to become part of the
system.

//

DISCLAIMER: This is an ANARCHO-VEGAN event. Nazis, right-wingers,
sexists, transphobes and any other form of oppressive bigot needs to
abstain themselves from attending. Also cops not welcome but we know
you’ll be there, won’t you?

DISCLAIMER 2: Many people in the forest have “forest names”. You can
rename yourself too if that makes you happy! We also don’t tend to ask
for real names, ages, place of origin and all that stuff. Also, we don’t
usually have IDs in the forest. Up to you to consider your own security,
of course.

FUR FARMING INVESTIGATION.

Malcolm Klimowicz from Kitchener Ontario Animal Liberation Alliance has endured a series of investigations in fur farms around Ontario to show the conditions animals are being kept on.

The magnitude of his work is massive, and he has only released a handful of the investigations. In this particular video, he discovers a puppy mill alongside the fur farm, and a corner of the farm is dedicated to white rabbits that could be sold for vivisection.

There’s a website to watch all the investigations and to sign a petition to end fur farming, so please have a look here:

REMEMBERING JILL PHIPPS.

On the 1st of February 1995, Jill Phipps tragically died after being crushed under the wheels of a lorry delivering baby veal calves to Coventry airport. Today, we remember Jill and her legacy.

Despite almost 100 officers being present on the day of the protest, they failed to protect those who had attempted to stop the lorry moving by sitting on the road. A protester at the scene noted that the police ignored the clear safety problems, and ushered the lorry to continue moving. It was at this moment that Jill was knocked down, and crushed under the wheels of the vehicle.

Today we remember a woman who was fearless and died needlessly in the fight for animal liberation. Although a tragic incident that should not have happened, Jill’s death inspired and still inspires many to get active and join fighting the cause that Jill lost her life for. We must honour her and remember her in our actions.

Jill’s spirit lives on in those who fight.

HUNT SABOTEUR IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER ATTACK.

“A Hunt Saboteur is in critical condition after being punched to the ground and ridden down by members of the Dart Vale and South Pool Harriers. The huntsman from the hunt was present and involved in the attack. Cameras and radios were stolen during the attack.

Saboteurs had been following the hunt when a small group of three were lured into a premeditated attack. The injured sab was punched to the ground before being ridden over by one of the hunt horses. He is currently in hospital undergoing a CT scan and repeatedly lost consciousness after the attack. He also has a hoof print in his head.”

ANIMAL LIBERATION FRONT – 2017 DIARY OF ACTIONS.

Earth First! Journal has compiled a list of actions taken by the ALF around the world during 2017 and reported in Bite Back magazine.

It is brilliant to see how different types of actions work in different places and how some countries that hadn’t had a single report before are now catching up.

See the list here:

BANGING GOODIE BOX JUST BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS!

Folks ask on a regular basis how they can support our work. As the disgraceful consumerist holidays approach, we thought  we could do a little raffle to raise some funds whilst providing a serious pack for someone who might really enjoy it.

Everybody around the world is welcome to take part and we will post the box to wherever the winner wants us to. Raffle tickets are 5 GBP and we encourage people to buy as many as they fancy.

The box is (capitalist valued) worth about 120 GBP. It will include:

  • From Dusk til Dawn book, signed by Keith Mann.
  • A choice of t-shirt and hoodie (stock dependant),
  • A pack of Unoffensive stickers.
  • A Sparrows Lock Pick set with tension wrenches and single picks as well as rakes.
  • A see-through padlock to practice lock picking.
  • A three holes black ski mask.
  • A refillable Montana street ink marker.
  • An Emergency window breaker.
  • A pocket hand powered chainsaw.

Grab yourself a raffle number in the link below:

https://www.unoffensiveanimal.is/product/unoffensive-raffle/

This is a fundraising raffle. Unoffensive needs to up the funds as many fines and upcoming court cases will take a toll in what we have. That means that your donation is that, a donation, and you might end up winning the box (which would be peng!) but you might not.

As the stuff in the box might be misunderstood, we want to make clear that Unoffensive does not promote, seek to incite or condone illegal activities and that all the goodies within the box are novelty items only. We do not take responsibility of your actions or how you might use the tools in the box, however righteous those illicit activities might be.

So basically, help us out and join the raffle, get as many tickets as you fancy and maybe you get a banging lil present before the holidays start.

Raffle ends the 10th of December.

Good luck and see you in the next riot.

HAMBACHER FOREST UPDATE – 4000 COPS, 12000 YEARS.

With the eviction well undergo in the 12,000 year old forest of Hambach, the actions of those protecting capitalism increase in violence whilst the action of those protecting the earth increase in numbers.
Oaktown has been for the last three days the main focus of the eviction. After cutting many people out of their lock ons, they attacked Simona (pictured below). Simona is a ground structure that kept a little secret inside, a reinforced tunnel that kept the cops occupied for quite a long time. Police had no problem driving over the tunnel, endangering the multiple activists locked underground, and resulted to lift the whole house out of the way to access the entrance of the tunnel. Right now, Oaktown still resists, with one activist comfortably sleeping in a hammock in the highest point of a tree.
Yesterday the forest walk brought thousands of people to the small town of Buir. Packing train after train with angry people from many different cities, the police tried to control them on the line of the forest and announced that the forest walk was cancelled for the day. As if the police was able to cancel the walk! With great rage and spirits, hundreds of people broke the police line chanting “We want a forest walk!” and accessed the woods of Hambach. Once in the forest, the police was visibly outnumbered, having to face hundreds of people that made machines get out of the woods and even surrounded one of the police tanks, that had to hastily run out whilst police forces used violence against crowds chanting “We are peaceful, what are you?”. Today, the police has focused on Gallien and on the Westside Warriors (Beechtown and Cozytown). Latest news from Gallien report screams of pain coming out of Bolo.
Meanwhile, around Germany but also in many other countries, support actions have been sending solidarity to all the seedlings in the forest. From banner drops to planting trees inside of embassies and RWE offices, people have been getting creative.
The latest report from the legal team shows 100+ arrests during the evictions, with 18 people still in custody.
