“Under the dark blanket of the night we broke into a caged chicken egg farm and took ten chickens away from the bars and into freedom. Thousands were left behind in a dystopian barn, imprisoned to produce profits for a farmer who sees them as nothing else but stock.

Those ten chickens will now discover grass, mud, sun rays and rain. They will get to experience the outside, they will be able to make friends or to take some time to themselves, they will no longer be valued based on their productivity, they will slowly regain their personhood.

When we walked out the barn, hearing the gentle chattering of the hens, we spared a thought for Tortuguita, murdered a year ago by the filth for protecting Weelaunee. We riot from afar, in raging memory.

We are tired of strategising action like liberation is a chess board. We don’t know what works, but we know that fighting is the only way of surviving an increasingly oppressive system that subjugates us all for profit. Be it arson against the machine or the liberation of crickets from a pet shop, don’t let your spirit dwindle and keep fighting.

13th January, Norway.

According to pro hunting reports, several wolf hunters in Norway have been targeted over night, with activists placing caltrops around their personal homes.

The wolf cull in Norway seeks to murder 18 wolves throughout the country in 2024. The latest wolf census for the country showed a total of 89 wolves living in Norway.

Environmental minster and known wet wipe Andreas Bjelland Eriksen has publicly condemned the actions, saying “I have full respect for the fact that many people want to challenge predator management, but this is done through democratic processes such as campaigning in front of Parliament and being clear in the media, not through illegal actions that can be directly dangerous for those doing a job for the community,”

The “vandalism” and “illegal actions” referred to by Andreas is the direct attack to several hunters who are actively attempting to kill wolves in Kongsvinger area.

Since the news of the caltrops, the wolf cull in the area has been halted. Whilst the hunting team says it is due to the weather and difficult tracking conditions, the police says it is difficult to know when they’ll be ready to go back out hunting.

“Activists had been in contact with the largest coffee chain in Denmark last year about switching to plant based milk as default, and after applying pressure to the company, they agreed they’d try out plant based by default in Copenhagen from January 2024. They lied.

Because of this, activists put super glue in the locks of many of their cafes in Copenhagen and left a clear message on their doors: “ditch dairy”. Activists also left the same message on several other of their cafes, as well as the entrance to their main office in Denmark.

It’s of course not only dairy that we’re against, but all abuse, exploitation and killing, but dairy seems to be the easiest place to start with cafes.”

These structures were used to kill or trap our wild animal brothers and sisters. Sometimes the time to strike was chosen carefully to slow down expensive and organized driven hunts that took place shortly after. Sometimes the locations were chosen to show new hunters in the area that their violent mindset and abuse is not welcome where we patrol.
