“On Saturday the 21st December 2024, Iveagh Foxhounds parked up on the Drumlin Road, near Donaghacloney, Co. Down.
The exact meeting spot had been targeted with a warning sprayed on the gable wall the night before, telling the hunt that they weren’t welcome at that location and advising the landowner who was hosting them to cease relations immediately. Our warning was ignored.
We must preface the following action by highlighting that we are in no way involved with any other anti-hunt group nor animal rights activists. We act alone and do not involve ourselves in any other circles, which keeps everyone safe. We do not align with the values of hunt saboteurs or peaceful protestors.
Our initial plan was thwarted by a heavy police presence in the area, so we bided our time, quietly waiting for the hunt to set off.
As the hunt did so, ARM volunteers deemed it fit to damage several vehicles belonging to the hunt. Most notable, a red Nissan pickup truck – vehicle reg. MXZ7182 – which had a brick thrown through the windscreen, rendering it unmovable until fixed.
Make absolutely no mistake, had the opportunity arose, members of Iveagh Foxhounds would have faced physical injury. ARM volunteers were equipped and had planned to carry out such an action.
Fox hunt groups across Ireland – you will no longer terrorise the countryside.
No option is off the table until you fold.
You have been warned.
To our comrades in the world of animal rights, we ask you to make a stand with us. Make your own cell. Dialogue, chanting and placard holding has got us nowhere.
People have fought and died for the cause of animal rights, whether that be out on the fields saving wildlife from the hunts or on hunger strike, to raise awareness of the plight of those who cannot speak.
