“Over a dozen signs promoting a local reindeer event in Dorset have been removed and recycled in the run up to Xmas.
Our fellow animals do not exist to be props for human entertainment. Every single one is a complex life with thoughts, feelings, and needs. They also deserve their own agency. We have a duty of care to those who cannot live wild (due to human activity), and that does not involve forcing them to perform and to be touched or stared at for our amusement.
Next year, we won’t just remove the signs; we will remove the reindeers too, and place them in safe homes where their needs will be met.”
